Verified Professional Profile
Measure, identify, and manage.
Chris specialises in management of business growth and reconstruction, using skills acquired through financial roles in both privately held SMEs and multinational corporations (ABB, Westinghouse Electric, Amcor).
He has worked in top level roles during both business expansion and contraction in distress, having “lived experience” with GFC-induced insolvency, Administrators, Deed of Company Arrangement, and the subsequent successful path-setting for a large private manufacturing company. He has completely turned around a virtually insolvent SME, sorted out disastrous accounting records and incorrect financial reports, and developed useful and clear financial reports with KPIs.
Chris has a deep understanding of cash flow management, producing inclusive and detailed 3-way budgets and forecasts with “what if” spreadsheet modelling skills. This enabled one project-based engineering business to finance organic growth at an annual rate of over 35% for five successive years, followed by major start-up and acquisition activity (employee numbers grew from 20 to 340).
Chris attended university as a part-time student, gaining work life skills in full time employment and has since lived and worked in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, London, and Norway. Chris is an expert in utilising Excel for value-adding tasks (started with Lotus 123 in 1983) and has extensive experience with many ERP systems.
