Andrew (or Drew) is an accomplished commercial lawyer with broad range of industry knowledge. Drew takes a practical approach, with the goal of delivering outcomes that are both legally sound and commercially sensible. Drew has significant insolvency and restructuring expertise across a broad range of industries. Drew is often called upon to assist in the most complex of matters and brings razor sharp attention to detail, excellent judgement and a highly tuned negotiation & communication skillset.

  • Commercial disputes and litigation, including disputes between business partners, contractual disputes and breaches of trust and equitable remedies;
  • Personal insolvency, including asset exposure; and
  • Corporate insolvency, restructuring and turnaround; including advising on director duties and potential liabilities.

Drew has an outstanding record working for insolvency practitioners, distressed businesses and insolvent entities. In conjuction with Eddie Griffith, Drew was instrumental in one of the most prominent safe harbour restructures in South Australia shortly after section 588GA came into effect in 2017. The result was that the secured and personally guaranteed bank was paid in full, the business was sold to an independent third party and nearly 60 jobs were saved. Negotiating and gaining the trust of the bank was critical, as was working through the interested parties and working collaboratively with the turnaround team; including the prospective purchaser. The end result saw the director implement a succession plan for the 40 year old business and he was retained on a substantial salary for 2 years after completion of the sale.

Drew and Andrew Andreyev of Andreyev Lawyers are co-founders of the ABRT and continue to support the development of the professional organisation, the executive certification and are proud sponsors. Drew is passionate about building the ABRT brand nationally and takes an interest in ongoing training and research.

Drew has a personal love of the South Australian wine industry, and has gained plenty of ‘insider knowledge’ through work with a local wine merchant and a hot autumn spent crushing grapes in Clarendon.
